It’s officially Awards Show Season! Which also means it’s officially time for me to start critiquing all of our favorite celebrities as they walk the Red Carpets of the season. Here is my Best and Worst Dressed at the 2016 Golden Globes
Amy Schumer in Prabal Gurung
Amy looks exactly how the current “it girl” should look like. This dress is gorgeous and glamorous, but more so than that, it’s her. She looks comfortable, classy, and beautiful. The world is truly this girl’s oyster right now.
Queen Latifah Badgley Mischka
Never have I ever seen Queen L look so amazing on a red carpet. Seriously this color was made for her, and the way this dress lays makes her body look fabulous. I love how she matched the sparkle of the neckline of the dress to the sparkle of her earrings. She looks incredible.
Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Zuhair Murad Couture
I love Jenna’s style on the carpet and rarely dislike anything she wears. She has a fabulous figure so I love seeing her in something that shows her figure off a little bit more, but I have admit this dress stunning and she looks gorgeous. This deep V neckline is super sexy, but she keeps it in check with the rest of the dress being a full skirt.
Alicia Vikander in Lois Vuitton
I’m not typically a fan of being extremely trendy on the red carpet. Classic is more my style on the carpet, but I even surprised myself by being draw to this trendy look. What I love about this dress is that the trend is subtle. I love the soft vertical lines of this dress and I love the frills around the neck and arm lines.
Emmy Rossum in Armani Prive
Holy cow, does she look like a movie star or what?! Seriously she is blowing my mind with this look. She takes a simple and classic look and brings it to life with a trendy wrap around necklace. Flawless.
Kate Hudson in Michael Kors Collection
I’ve seen this trend a few times on the carpet, and I have to say, I don’t mind it as a whole, but Kate completely misses the mark with this look. The all over shimmer of this fabric looks like bad homecoming dress material from the 90’s. Her make-up looks great, but her hair is so blahh to me. This is hard for me to say because I love Kate, but I honestly think she looks semi-trashy.
Cate Blachett in Givenchy
I mean, do I even need to explain this one? Yuck, just yuck! About half the time I see Cate on a red carpet and she looks absolutely stunning. The other half of the time, she makes my eyes feel like their bleeding. She truly is a beautiful and talented woman and I like her a lot, but my eyes are bleeding.
Natalie Dormer in J. Mendel
First word that comes to mind: confused. The off the shoulder trend is great, and so is the neckpiece trend, but I’m seriously confused about why anyone thought it would be a good idea to put them together. I’m also seriously confused as to why it looks like she hasn’t combed her hair in 3 weeks. The intentions with this look were good, but she missed the mark for me.
Eva Longoria in Georges Hobeika
Hmm, where should I look first? How bout the random cut-out bow neck line! Wait, no no, lets look first at the bow belt that looks like something a 7 year old would wear. NO, no, lets check out the rose garden growing on her hips making her looking 3 times bigger than she actually is! UGH, why Eva, why?! This dress is a complete disaster.
Leslie Mann in Monique Lhuillier
Another beautiful woman who is doing her body a disservice. Why is the top of this gown so loose and why does it hang over the belt line? The material of this dress looks cheap and the length is too long and bunches at the bottom. Also, is it just me or does her necklace look like one of those candy necklaces you eat?
