I feel like you’re either a donut person or you’re not.
like, either you think leggings are pants or you don’t. ya know?
I have to be honest I’m really not a donut person. Never once in my life have I woken up in the morning and been like “man oh man I am really craving a donut”. Never.
Pancakes, cinnamon rolls, or bacon? Umm, yes, like daily.
But donuts I’ve always been able to take or leave. That is, until I discovered donut heaven nestled in the heart of the Garden District in New Orleans. And now I wake up dreaming of donuts.
A while back when I started planning my trip to New Orleans I had heard that District Donuts made a bacon donut. I repeat, a BACON DONUT. I was sold. I needed to stop at this place.
District rolls out 10 different types of donuts a day. Glazed, chocolate glazed and cinnamon sugar are the only ones that are made every day, the other 7 rotate out each day.
Sadly, the day I was there was not a day maple bacon was on the menu. BUT, I was able to drown my sorrows in a cookie dough, and milk & cereal donut instead.
Some of their other rotating donut flavors I’m dying to try:
root beer float, blueberry cheesecake, almond joy, rum raisin, cookie dough, fluffed nutter, and of course maple bacon.
Seriously, I just became a donut person.
PS- District has a great presence on Instagram and posts their donut flavors for the day each morning! Check them out here!!
