host + reporter + writer
Welcome, Friend!
Meet Carrie
Born and raised in rural Central Wisconsin, Carrie is a proud cheesehead and die-hard Green Bay Packer fan. She likes mid-afternoon naps, country music, front porch swings, and sundresses. She is a former 4-time grand champion barrel racer, earned 11 varsity athletic letters in high school, and has flown around the world (literally). She is an eternal optimist, a closet book nerd, and a huge Star Wars fan. She firmly believes that the book is always better than the movie, and that dogs are God's way of showing how much he loves us.
Career Bio
Carrie Gillaspie is an award-winning TV host, reporter, writer, and podcast host. She got her start in media in 2010 as a news intern for WDLB/WOSQ radio in Marshfield, Wisconsin. After her sports background and knowledge was discovered, she was moved to color-commentating and sideline reporting for local high school football, basketball, and baseball. From there, Carrie pursued sports broadcasting further, working in baseball as a Game Host for the Eau Claire Express (college summer league) and the Pawtucket Red Sox (AAA affiliate of the Boston Red Sox).
In early 2014, Carrie landed an internship in the sports department with WISN 12 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This put her on the sidelines covering some of the biggest sports teams in the state of Wisconsin including the Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks, Marquette Golden Eagles, and the Wisconsin Badgers; and had her rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in the sports world including Derek Jeter, Robin Yount, and Bud Selig.
In late 2014, Carrie started working as a freelance show host for Marshfield Community Television (MCTV) in Marshfield, Wisconsin. As a show host for MCTV she's interviewed everyone from the city's Mayor and K9 Officer, to University Deans and Wisconsin Governor, Scott Walker.
Carrie also writes a successful lifestyle blog that reaches over 25,000 monthly readers, and maintains active social media accounts where she has a reach of over 10,000 followers. Whether she's on-air or on the web, Carrie's natural curiosity, enthusiasm, and charismatic nature helps others to feel like they're a part of the magic.
When she's not on-air or writing she can be found at a baseball stadium, sipping a Pale Ale while cheering on her husband, Casey, who plays baseball for the Chicago White Sox, or watching Friends re-runs while cuddling her two dogs, Gatsby and Lyla.
