Best Looks of the Night: 2020 Golden Globes

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

AWARDS SEASON!

Awards season is basically my Christmas. I get so giddy and truly love breaking down all the fashion that comes along with it.

Honestly, this carpet wasn’t my favorite. There were a few people I thought nailed it, but there were also a lot of people who gave me “mehh” vibes. Not a lot that was horrible, but a lot that was just blah.

Regardless, lets get into my faves!

Priyanka Chopra in Cristina Ottaviano

This dress fits her like a glove. If you’ve been here reading these recaps for a while, you know fit is huge to me. Not only is it impeccably fitted on the top, waist, and hips, but the length is also perfect. This proves, yet again, little details matter when it comes to a Red Carpet look. The color is stunning on her beautiful olive skin tone and the hair make-up and jewelry are also spot on.

Nicole Kidman in Atelier Versace

Nicole Kidman either shows up wearing something absurd, or wearing something flawless, literally there is no in-between with her. Lucky for us, we got the flawless version on Sunday night. This is a classic silhouette, but it shows some extra interest with the gathering on the side and the detail in the fabric. I am so glad her hair is pulled off her face and understated because it really lets the dress shine. A complicated hairdo would make the look to busy, IMO. I could have done without the weird coin bag type purse. That’s a little random.

Reese Witherspoon in Roland Mouret

OMG, Reese! This woman has become a champion for me on the carpet in the last few years. She never tries to hard, but still mixes up what she wears enough that I’m always excited to see what she shows up in. I love the dress, but I think I love her hair and make-up more. It’s all a big hit for me.

Sofia Vergara in Dolce & Gabbana

Sophia is the poster woman for someone who knows her body, knows what looks good on her, and just sticks with it. She has an incredible hour-glass shape and she always picks something that accentuates it in the best way. She also almost always wears her hair down and simply curled loosely. It works and she looks great.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge in Ralph and Russo

I love me a good pant suit! Phoebe Waller-Bridge for the win, everyone! The structure is amazing, the deep V is sexy without looking like she’s trying too hard, the length of the pant (which a lot of people get wrong) is perfect, and the closed toe basic black shoe is spot on. I have to admit, I think she could have done better with the hair. I would have loved to have seen it pulled back off her face. It looks kind of like a wavy comb-over in this pic. Nevertheless, this girl is having a moment and I’m here for it!

Cynthia Erivo in Custom Thom Browne

I feel like this is the type of dress the stuns even more in real life. It looks great in this pic, but I think if I were on the carpet seeing it in real life I would have fallen over. There was a lot of black with white details on this carpet, but this was by far my favorite. I like the necklace, but the deep blue jewel doesn’t do much for me. Otherwise, fab!

Margot Robbie in Chanel

Margot Robbie is a stunning human being. I’ve seen her in some amazingly gorgeous, detailed, and sexy looks on red carpets past. I feel like this look is really her coming into her own. It’s beautiful and classic, but also on-trend. I’ve loved watching her style evolve as she’s grown into more and more of a star. I can’t wait to see what she shows up in at the SAGS and the Oscars.
