Best Looks of the Night: 2020 Oscars

My FAVORITE night in fashion: The Oscars! Ekkk!!

I look forward to this event all year long, and I am happy to say, for the most part, I really enjoyed this carpet. I have extremely high standards for this carpet as it is thee biggest night in hollywood. You don’t just wear anything to the Oscars.

Brie Larson in Celine

I love me a gown with a cape over top (fun fact: I actually wore a cape gown for my rehearsal dinner for my wedding and have since been obsessed!). This va-va-va-voom! It looks like it fits her like a glove, the length is exact right, and I love the simple slicked back hair that really allows the dress to shine. I was not expecting this from her, but it was one of my favorites of the night.

Laura Dern in Armani Prive

I have heard mixed reviews about this one, but hear me out! First of all, the awkward way she’s posing (or rather not posing at all) in this pic does this dress no favors at all. Second of all, this dress is the classic case of something that looks much better in real time than it does in photographs. I watched her interview on the carpet and as she was walking and moving and interacting, the dress truly looked so beautiful.

Cynthia Erivo in Atelier Versace

Cythnia Ervivo might be my overall MVP of the awards show season carpet. She was been on my best dressed list for every awards show. I am so glad she saved this dress for the Oscars because it is 100% glam to the max. Head to toe, I just love how she looks. She also had an amazing dress for the Vanity Fair after party. I don’t know who her stylist is, but she needs a raise.

Scarlett Johansson in Oscar de la Renta

Scar Jo! My girl! This woman is a babe. She tends to be hit or miss for me in the carpet, but this was a huge hit in my book. This was another looked that I’ve heard mixed reviews about, but I think it is risky without being inappropriate for the event. Her hair and make-up is really what put this over the top for me. The last two carpets we’ve seen her on this awards season she’s had her hair very slicked back, but here with the hair softly pulled back and framing her face along with the natural kind of smolderly make-up; omg she is just a babe.

Charlize Theron in Dior

Another absolutely stunning woman. Charlize has looked good this awards season. Not my favorite, not impeccable, but good. I was so freaking happy to see her end with a bang! She looks so put together, and chic.
