Back to the beginning

Carrie got her start in media in 2010 as a news intern for WDLB/WOSQ radio in Marshfield, Wisconsin. After several weeks of her incessant talking about the Green Bay Packers defensive schemes, and what the Yankees needed to do to win another World Series in the next 3 years, her boss asked her if she wanted to help in the sports department. She said, yes please.

She quickly became a regular doing color-commentating and sideline reporting for local high school football, basketball, and baseball.

From there, Carrie pursued sports broadcasting further, working in baseball as a Game Host for the Eau Claire Express (college summer league) and the Pawtucket Red Sox (AAA affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, now the Worcester Red Sox ).

In early 2014, Carrie landed an internship in the sports department with WISN 12 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This put her on the sidelines covering some of the biggest sports teams in the state of Wisconsin including the Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks, Marquette Golden Eagles, and the Wisconsin Badgers; and had her rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in the sports world including Derek Jeter, Robin Yount, Aaron Rodgers, and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

In 2016, Carrie made the shift to freelance work, hosting lifestyle content and morning shows so she could have the flexibility to travel with her husband, professional baseball player, Casey Gillaspie.

During this time she was a regular show host for OnFocus News, and a morning show contributor on WCCB News Rising in Charlotte, North Carolina.

In 2020, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri and took a position as the game host and digital reporter for the Kansas City Monarchs.

In 2021, she took a role as the Digital Host and Reporter for the Kansas City Royals. She hosted the team’s official podcast, wrote, produced, and hosted segments and shows for the teams digital and social platforms, and even interviewed her favorite Hollywood celeb, Paul Rudd.

In early 2024, Carrie became one of the co-hosts of the lifestyle show, Great Day KC on FOX4 in Kansas City, Missouri.
