Carrie is a proud advocate for animal welfare. She has spent thousands of hours working towards ending animal cruelty, neglect, homelessness, and abuse.

In 2019 Carrie organized and fundraised to host a spay and neuter clinic for farm cats in her local rural Wisconsin home town. The response from her neighbors was so incredible that she has gone on to host 6 more of these clinics, and even started a program to coach other people on hosting spay and neuter clinics in their own towns. As of 2023, Carrie has facilitated sterilizing and vaccinating over 800 cats.

After a year of being a weekly volunteer at Missouri Pit Bull Rescue, Carrie took the leap into fostering. She has fostered 10 dogs - 6 puppies and 4 adults - that have all gone on to find loving forever homes.

In her spare time, she volunteers on a regular basis for various shelters in the Kansas City Metro area including Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, Missouri Pit Bull Rescue, and KC Pet Project, and in Wisconsin at Marshfield Area Pet Shelter.

Carrie is known for creatively using her storytelling skills in tandem with the power of the internet to get adoptable dogs publicity. Her two original TikTok series - Dog Dates and Dogs I Foster - have garnered over 1 million views on TikTok and captured hearts around the globe. Most importantly, they’ve helped dozens of dogs find loving forever homes.

On one day in May of 2023, Carrie’s ‘animal senses’ were life saving for one small pup, when she pulled into Kauffman stadium for work and heard yelping coming from a car a few rows back. Her instincts told her something wasn’t right, and upon investigation she found a small dog was stuck in the engine of her co-worker’s car. As if the rescue itself wasn’t incredible enough, Carrie did what she’s does best - story tell and made a TikTok recounting the entire event, which soon went viral.

Since 2022, Carrie has been a reoccurring guest on Fox4’s morning lifestyle show, Great Day KC, where she brings adoptable dogs in to be featured on the show in their weekly Pet Pick segment.
